Yoga Class Details & Policies

Due to COVID-19, all classes are

ONLINE ONLY until 18th May

Face to Face Classes

FROM END OF MAY

Regular face to face, in-person classes are currently held in Fair Oak (also Horton Heath and Eastleigh from later in 2021). For information about locations and venues click here.

All sessions need to be pre-booked as spaces are limited due to COVID restrictions. Choose to attend every week and sign up for a 'half term block' of classes or just book individual classes and attend when you can. A booking confirmation will be sent to you via email.

In the case of a face to face class being full, it is always worth emailing Jo to let her know you are interested and double checking the booking system again a few hours before a class (as circumstances sometimes change last minute).

Sessions are all one hour long (unless otherwise specified) and follow the weeks of the school term (University of Southampton and private class dates may vary).

Unless instructed otherwise, please bring your own yoga mat and any props that you may like to use (perhaps two yoga blocks and a blanket for your knees and for relaxation). It is not currently possible to borrow equipment.

Classes currently cost £7.50 per session if you book a half term block or £9 for individual sessions (as at May 2021).

In addition to attending your chosen weekly "live" class, you will also be sent a link to access a video recording of that week's session (at the end of the week), which you can replay as many times as you want, until the next half-term.

Please note the social distancing rules and safety measures currently
in venues (see the COVID Secure Class Guidelines leaflet).

Online Classes via Zoom

Jo can see students through the camera on their device and you will be able to see and hear her. Students' microphones will be muted during the main part of the class to reduce background noise but there will be an opportunity to speak to each other before and after the class.

Choose to attend weekly and book a 'half term block' of classes or drop in when you can and sign up and pay for individual classes. A booking confirmation will be sent to you via email with details of the Zoom link.

Sessions are all one hour long (unless otherwise specified) and follow the weeks of the school term (University of Southampton and private class dates may vary).

Classes cost £6 per session if you book a half term block or £7 for individual sessions (as at May 2021)You will also receive a link to watch a video replay of the week's class at the end of the week.

Find yourself a safe place to practice, with a yoga mat and enough space around you to raise your arms up above and out to the sides and to lie down full length on the floor. Have any other props which you might like to use nearby (yoga blocks, a cushion, a blanket, extra layers and anything else that makes you feel comfortable).

In addition to attending your chosen "live" class, you will also have access to a recording of that week's session, which you can replay as many times as you want, until the start of the next half-term.

Depending on which device you are using, you may need to download the Zoom app:

"Movers & Soothers" on Facebook Live

The 'Movers and Soothers' Facebook Group encourages people to practice yoga more regularly, offering short, 30-minute classes via Facebook.

Facebook sessions are live, once a week, on a monthly subscription basis and are accessed via a Private Facebook Group.

This fun and friendly page offers you accountability and a sense of community between likeminded souls. The sessions are a mixture of gentle uplifting flows, slow stretches, breathing practices and meditations.

A new class will go out live at 8am on Monday each week. You can practice along with me or watch the replays anytime afterwards when it suits you.

For a monthly subscription of £7.50, you will be given access to a Private Facebook Group containing ALL of the 30 minute classes that have previously been recorded.

Select the 'Movers and Soothers Facebook Group' when booking (just like you were signing up for a normal class). Once your payment has been received, you will be sent a link to find the 'Movers and Soothers Yoga with Jo' Facebook group and you can request to join the group. As soon as I have approved your request, you will be able to join in live or access the Facebook classes whenever you like. 😊

You will need access to a Facebook account in order to be able to join in with the classes (to create a Facebook account go to www.facebook.com and click 'Create new account').

We have a quiet corner of the internet which will be kept completely private and will only be visible to those who are approved members.

You will be able to see and hear me, but I won't be able to see or hear you. You can type in 'Comments' so that we can communicate with each other before and after the class.

If you can't make a live class, the latest video (and all the videos that went before it) will be there for you whenever you are ready to practice yoga!

You are encouraged to let me know what you liked/loved/struggled with and what you would like to work on in future. This is your chance to ask questions, say how you are feeling, put in requests and discuss all things yoga within the safety of a private group.

You will have access to the Facebook group for the full calendar month which you have subscribed. As well as the new, live classes, all of the videos will remain up on Facebook, so you will also have access to all of the accumulated content from the prior weeks and months. As new classes continue to be added, you will have this entire yoga library at your fingertips!

The monthly subscription runs from the first to the last day of the calendar month. Please note that, whilst you can book and subscribe at any time, membership is not offered on a pro-rata basis if you sign up after 1st of the calendar month. A reminder will be sent out when new subs are due (close to the start of the next month). If you decide not to subscribe the following month, you will simply be removed from the group when the new calendar month begins but you can re-subscribe and join in again at any time.

Policies & FAQs

Bookings & Payments

Weekly sessions run in half-term blocks for five, six or seven weeks at a time (depending on school term dates) then break for school holidays (click here to view term dates).

I understand that some people’s lives mean that they are not able to commit to attending yoga at the same time every week (I’ve been there in the past myself and I have felt that this has excluded me from signing up to some yoga courses) therefore, you have the choice to commit to a block of classes and benefit from a lower price per session, or you can sign up for individual classes if you prefer.

When you sign up for classes, a confirmation email will be sent to you with the details about how to join the class.

Your place is not confirmed until full payment has been received.

In the case of a face to face class or workshop being full, it is worth emailing or texting Jo to let her know you are interested (as circumstances sometimes change last minute).

You can also contact Jo about making alternative or extraordinary payments for classes.

Class Timings

Face to Face and Zoom Ananda Yoga sessions are all one hour long, unless otherwise specified, and follow the weeks of the school term (University of Southampton and private class dates may vary).

Facebook Live classes are 30 minutes long.

Workshop timings vary and details are given for each individual event.

Equipment

Unless instructed otherwise, please bring your own yoga mat and any props that you may like to use (e.g. yoga blocks and a blanket). It is not currently possible to borrow equipment.

Changes to Classes, Transfers, Refunds & Cancellations

Things happen, plans change. If you are not able to attend a class that you have booked onto, it may still be possible to attend an alternative class instead. Please send a text or email to let Jo know and to discuss options.

You are able to change your individual class bookings on the booking system yourself up to 24 hours ahead of the start time of your class and can choose to transfer the session to another class that is within 10 weeks of the original class date booked. If you cannot transfer your booking to a different class yourself (or have any other issue with the online booking system), please send an email to Jo in good time and something can usually be sorted out. 😊

Refunds will only be given in exceptional cases (unless Jo is unable to provide the classes you have paid for in which case a choice of transfer or refund will be offered).

Please note these are challenging times and face to face classes may need to switch to online yoga should the situation change. If this becomes necessary, students will be informed by email as soon as possible and transfers or refunds offered.
