Gentle Yoga with Jo


Welcome to Ananda Yoga

Hi, I'm Jo Welch. I teach a gentle style of Hatha Yoga led by the breath, exploring various asana (physical postures) with options and modifications offered along the way. Inspirational themes and yoga philosophy are woven into my teachings to leave you feeling uplifted, inspired, empowered and peaceful. Sessions always include mindful movement and pranayama (breathing practices) and finish with a deep relaxation and/or meditation to soothe the body and calm the mind. 

I semi-retired in the summer of 2023 and have handed over my weekly yoga classes to some lovely yoga teachers (see Resources Page for contacts). I am now focusing on longer, one off, pop-up classes, workshops and retreats and I also cover classes for other teachers.


Longer sessions allow time to enjoy Restorative Yoga postures and Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) or workshops might explore an aspect of the philosophy or science of yoga, offering you the chance to deepen your relationship and understanding of the practice of yoga. Retreats might be for a day or a week, on your doorstep or further affield.

Serving yoga students from Fair Oak, Horton Heath, Bishopstoke, Eastleigh, Winchester, Southampton and far away, I also offer private yoga classes, corporate yoga classes, workshops and retreats.
